New Delhi : JK Industries Ltd. was today honoured with the FOCUS LAC Export Award for the year 1999-2000. JK Tyre has received this prestigious award for continuous focus on Latin American markets and in recognition of being the largest exporter to this region under the product category - Chemicals & Allied products. This is the first time these awards have been constituted by Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) to honour the top exporters to Latin America. JK Tyres exported tyres worth Rs. 22.86 crores in 1999-2000 to Latin America.

Expressing satisfaction on JK Tyre receiving the award from the Union Minister for Agriculture, Shri Ajit Singh at a ceremony held at Pragati Maidan, Mr. H.K. Chopra, Vice-President - International Sourcing & Sales, JK Industries Ltd. said, " This is a recognition of our concerted efforts to enter and develop new markets in the Latin American region since 1990. Credit equally goes to the consistent R & D initiatives at our Tyre R&D Centre - HASTERI at Kankroli. It is this ability to continuosly identify and develop markets and adapt technologies accordingly, which has made the JK Tyre group the largest tyre exporter of the nation consistently over last four years."

Today, JK Tyre's bias truck tyres are a preferred brand in several Latin American countries. Inspite of hurdles such as economic uncertainty, currency fluctuations and uncharted markets, JK Tyre has created a marked presence in these markets and plans to further increase overall exposure to these markets.
