Narain puts India on the Formula- I World Map

by the gurus of Formula One Racing and nearly 50,000 motorsports fans ,
the 24 year old Coimbatore born speed king , Narain Karthikeyan , became
the first Asian outside Japan to showing his skills in the prestigious
Formula I arena and the First Indian to do so.

According
to racing experts, Narain performed well considering that it was the
first time behind the wheels of an F1 car. He drove 15 timed laps, with
his fastest at 1 minute 26 seconds. Narain achieved a top speed of
304.33 km per hour, while Mika Hakkinen had a speed of 308 km per hour
and Michael Schaumacher 306.09 km per hour.
As Narains Jaguar vroomed in the background the sponsor who
discovered Indias

fastest man, JK Tyre felt that they had waited for eight years for this
to happen and it is a truly historic occasions for Indians. Standing in
the wings were budding Indian drivers Parthiva Sureshwaran and Karun
Chandok watching the man who will now be their model to emulate.
