Optimum performance can be obtained from a tyre only if it is taken
care of and maintained properly according to the guideline listed below.
The tyres are designed to carry a specific load at a specified inflation
pressure when mounted on a specific rim. Variation in any of these
parameters will severely affect the tyre performance.

Cuts and Damages
- Tyres must be thoroughly inspected for any damages on a regular
basis. Any injury or cut on the tread or sidewall, if repairable
must never be neglected. Otherwise these will grow on further use,
collect moisture, dirt & dust and ultimately damage the carcass
which will result in tyre failure.
- Avoid running the tyres over sharp objects to prevent concussion
failure.
Weather cracking
Cracks on the rubber surface develop due to sunlight, ozone or
electrical discharge like welding arc. Tyres must be protected from
these elements. An opaque and water-proof covering can be used when the
tyre is not in use. Even a good coating of mud may be helpful.
Spinning Drive - wheels
Careless application of high torque available from the tractor will
cause the drive-wheels to spin, resulting in erosion, chipping, chunking
or tearing of rubber from the tread surface.
Slippage on rim
Tyre
may slip on the rim for :
- Dirty / rusty rims
- Rim undersize
- Under - inflation
- Excessive lubrication while mounting
- Improper seating of the beads on the rim
The slippage will tear away the valve from the tube. To prevent this
demount the tyre, clean the tyre beads and rim, remount using proper
lubricant and inflate to the required inflation pressure.
