J.K. TYRE BAGS " TOP EXPORT AWARD " FOR THE YEAR 1999-2000 FROM CAPEXIL.

(1999 -2000 turnover: Rs. 1,346 crores) – be it pioneering cutting edge technologies; adapting innovative marketing strategies to take-on the role of ‘market- maker’; giving India its best motorsport stalwarts or consistently surpassing the industry benchmarks for export performance. JK Tyre’s extraordinary export performance stands reaffirmed emerging as the recipient of ‘Top Export Award’ for the year 1999-2000 from Capexil.

JK Tyre Group (JK Tyre and Vikrant) is the largest exporter of tyres from India and accounts for about 26% of the total tyre export from the country. In the said financial year (1999-2000), the export by JK Tyre in FOB terms is Rs. 139.13 crores and that of its associate Vikrant Tyre is Rs. 62.59 crores.

It is the constant endeavor to deliver superior value to its customers and a sound marketing strategy which forms the foundation of this consistent performance of JK Tyre in the international markets. Today, JK Tyre products compete with the leading international players in the premium international bias market in over 50 countries.

This year, JK Tyre Group launched several initiatives to strengthen its position in the global markets. Apart from consolidating presence in the North and Central American markets, it has successfully ventured into new markets in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. JK Tyre has introduced new Radial products to meet the growing Radialisation needs in the developed as well as developing markets.

While JK Tyre has maintained consistency in its marketing strategies for export markets, it has actively pursued development of product specific requirements of customers. The credit goes to the India’s biggest in-house R&D centre, HASETRI (Hari Shankar Singhania Elastomer and Tyre Research Institute). This Centre for Rubber and allied technology was established at Jaykaygram, Rajasthan and became the first research institute in Asia to be awarded ISO 9002, ISO/ IEC Guide 25 & EN 45001. Equipped with advanced testing facilities, it pursues excellence by evolving technologies for superior product and pre-empt consumer needs.

JK Tyre strongly believes in the philosophy of being the leader in various facets of the industry. Among the list of many firsts, JK Tyre is the first and only tyre manufacturer in the world to receive the QS 9000 for multi-location operations, for its entire range of products; world’s first tyre manufacturer to receive ISO 9001 for all its operations in one go; first to manufacturer Steel Radial tyres in India; first Indian exporter of Car Radials to developed countries, including European nations and the first tyre company to receive ISO 14001 in recognition of its environmental management systems.
